Located on the steep slopes of Portland’s west hills the composition is designed
to perch across a tight bend in the topography while resting on a natural
plinth 20 feet from the access drive. The entry facade is punctuated by a
bridge element which aligns with a three story tilted glass bay window
facing the distant coastal ranges. The scheme is pinned to the organic soft
site by vertical concrete light monitors which also house the wet areas of
the program contrasting the large cantilevered roof which keeps direct
sunlight off the all glass south facade.
