Japanese Poetry Museum
This design explores the relationship of building to site by submerging itself into the sloping rolling hillside. The exhibit space are organic wooden vessels that are carefully placed into a concrete container while each of the three vessels captures natural light protruding in three separate directions producing unique daylighting conditions.

The program includes exhibit spaces, rest areas, office and interpretive center culminating in a series of separate wooden structures. The large site is contained by establishing clear boundaries of edge elements such as the rust-resistant tree exhibit building and boat ramp all surrounding the central “lodge-like” exhibit hall.
