These row homes that are 20ft X 50ft explore the role of natural light in tight
dimensions of space. Each unit however seemingly similar is richly diverse
in the inside each arranging different layouts within their respective
boxes. The spaces are brought together in a series of interlocking volumes
that are simple in plan but complex in section allowing the shell to stay
ordinary while the interiors capture light and jockey for position in
relationship to each other. The wood frame structure is clad in wood and
metal siding with the concrete foundation walls extending into the facades at key
moments of the design - "a simple story with complex characters".
