Salem Riverfront Condominiums
(with Boora Architects) 2002-2005
This proposed 43-unit brick and glass condominium is located on Front Avenue
overlooking Salem's waterfront park and the Willamette River nestled in the
historic downtown area that is peppered with old brick buildings of various
scales. The interior layouts reflect the diversity of Salem's population
with sales prices ranging from 95,000 to 300,000 each layout intended to
maximize light and views, yet be flexible to the changing needs of modern
life. The architectural language explores transparency/lightness and the
heavy/roughness of brick blending aesthetically together with the feel of a
vintage warehouse, and the sculptural qualities of a glass lantern.
Twentieth & Jefferson 2002
This study investigates the highest and best use of the Trimet owned,
quarter block in Goose Hollow. The program includes ground floor retail, 18
at grade parking spaces and 24 residential units. The simple cube-like
volumes of the design responds to the adjacent Pietro Bulluschi historic
modernist office building.
